Job summary

Amrize seeks a Build For Growth Process Engineer I to help drive plant improvements and participate in the Amrize US Build4Growth Program. This 14-month cement manufacturing learning and development track provides essential knowledge for the main operational areas of our plants, blending online learning, face-to-face sessions, and on-the-job projects.

You will work on process optimization, SAP reporting, and system implementations while adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies

Qualifications

• B.S./B.E. in Chemical Engineering or related field
• 0-3 years of work experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Analyze plant operations and suggest process improvements with cost/benefit analysis
• Develop process control automation and computer applications for process control
• Prepare reports on operating efficiencies and failure investigations
• Conduct tests on plant systems to determine equipment efficiencies
• Assist management in maintaining plant compliance with environmental and quality policies
• Train shift supervisors for SAP reporting and TIS
• Support new system implementations (e.g., TIS)
• Participate in ISO audits and month-end activity reporting
• Commit to safety and health policies in all work environments

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Process Engineer, New Graduate is responsible for the operational improvements of all aspects of the plant production and for the computer applications to process controls.

The Process Engineer, New Graduate will also be a part of the Amrize US Build4Growth Program. This is an extensive, 14-month cement manufacturing learning and development program designed to provide new graduate engineers with foundational knowledge and experience on the main operational areas of our cement plants. This program is built on a blended learning approach including online learning, face‑to‑face sessions, on‑the‑job assignments, and projects.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Analyze operations of the Plant and make recommendations for process improvement including Cost/Benefit Analysis.
• Develop process control automation and computer applications for process control.
• Prepare computer reports on the process of operating efficiencies and failure investigation tests.
• Perform tests on operating plant systems to determine the efficiencies of the equipment.
• Provide assistance to management in maintain the Plant within environmental and quality performance regulations.
• Training shift supervisors for SAP reporting and TIS.
• Responsible for New System Implementation (eg. TIS).
• Perform ISO Audits and involved with Month End activity reporting.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Field of Study Preferred: Chemical Engineering.

Required Work Experience: 0-3 years

Required Computer and Software Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Travel Requirements: 5%

• Self-starter/ highly motivated team player.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
