Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Build Systems Engineer in the United States (North Carolina) to reduce friction in engineering workflows and accelerate teams working on early cancer detection. You will own and improve Bazel-based monorepo build systems, raise CI reliability, and develop internal tooling used across engineering and research.

The role emphasizes developer productivity, large-scale build orchestration, and hands-on coding with Go, Python, TypeScript, or Java.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building systems, CI/CD, or developer productivity platforms.
• 2+ years with a large-scale build system (e.g., Bazel, Buck, Pants, Gradle, or CMake).
• 2+ years building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
• 3+ years professional coding in Go, Python, TypeScript, or Java.
• 1+ years of hands-on AWS and Kubernetes experience.
• BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience working on build systems, CI/CD, or developer productivity / platform tooling.

• 2+ years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or a comparable system.
• 3+ years of professional coding experience in one or more of Go, Python, TypeScript, or Java.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and containerized workloads on Kubernetes.
• BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
