Overview

Within this organization, you’ll join the Build Reliability function, a cross-disciplinary group focused on ensuring that flight hardware and assemblies perform reliably from design through manufacturing and into flight.

Role

Role Overview

As a Build Reliability Engineer, you will:

  • Lead investigations into failures occurring in manufacture, testing, or flight, and apply both immediate fixes and systemic improvements
  • Work hand in glove with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to create proactive reliability and quality strategies
  • Define test protocols, inspection requirements, and manufacturability criteria for new hardware
  • Oversee containment of nonconforming parts, coordinating with inspectors, technicians, and engineers on quarantine or rework actions
  • Support and develop the Quality Management System framework (traceability, NC handling, configuration control) and help integrate QMS tools
  • Drive corrective actions from identified trends, ensuring permanent resolutions
  • Aid in shaping supplier quality processes, including reviews, nonconformance resolution, and supplier assurance
  • Introduce and validate lean inspection or test workflows that maintain objectivity and quality goals
  • Advise on safety in operational areas, ensuring planning standards are upheld
Who You Are: Requirements & Background

Must-haves (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, Manufacturing, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Physics
  • At least 3 years of experience in a role touching manufacturing, design, or quality engineering
  • Hands-on involvement in hardware development (could include complex mechanical assemblies, fluid systems, wiring/harness, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of quality methodologies: Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, APQP, PFMEA, control plans, metrology
  • Experience in test, inspection, or manufacturing settings
