The Budget Manager provides essential fiscal and administrative support to the Autism Professional Learning and Universal Supports and the Center for Intensive Behavioral Supports projects, statewide grant projects offered through the Department of Special Education at Illinois State University. This position ensures effective budget execution, financial reporting, and compliance with grant and institutional policies. The role utilizes strong attention to detail, technical accuracy, and an ability to manage multiple fiscal processes for a complex, multi-stakeholder initiative funded through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

Responsibilities
  • Provide fiscal and administrative support for statewide grant projects in the Department of Special Education at Illinois State University.
  • Ensure budget execution, financial reporting, and compliance with grant and institutional policies.
  • Manage multiple fiscal processes for a complex, multi-stakeholder initiative funded through ISBE.
Salary Information

$3,575 - $4,000 per month

Required Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in fiscal administration, budgeting, or grant financial management
  3. Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., Excel, Banner, TouchNet, or other accounting software)
  4. Skills/Abilities:
    • Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Ability to interpret financial policies, track multiple accounts, and meet deadlines
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience managing budgets and reporting for state or federally funded education projects or grants
  2. Knowledge of IDEA and familiarity with professional learning initiatives in education
  3. Understanding of institutional processes within public universities or similar settings
  4. Demonstrated ability to create clear financial reports and summaries for non-fiscal audiences
Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Position occasionally requires work beyond regular office hours both on and off campus.
