Job summary

Riggs Tree Service, LLC is seeking an experienced Utility Bucket Trimmer to join our ROW crew. This is not an entry-level role; you should have hands-on knowledge of utility vegetation management, the ability to operate an aerial lift, and experience trimming around power lines.

As part of our ROW team, you will perform trimming, pruning, removals, and rigging from bucket trucks, while following safety procedures and utility specifications.

Qualifications

• Real-world experience with utility vegetation management (UVM) and ROW tree/brush clearing.
• Experience trimming around energized utility lines and working near utility infrastructure.
• Ability to operate aerial lifts, chainsaws, pole saws safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with rigging, crew safety, and following utility work plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform tree trimming, pruning, clearing, and removals from an aerial lift.
• Clear trees, limbs, and brush from utility rights-of-way.
• Work safely around energized electrical conductors and utility infrastructure.
• Operate bucket trucks, chainsaws, pole saws, and related vegetation management equipment.
• Identify hazards and follow utility specifications and customer requirements.
• Assist with rigging and complex tree removals and with storm restoration when needed.

TOP PAY FOR TOP TRIMMERS — WAGE NEGOTIABLE BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Riggs Tree Service is looking for an EXPERIENCED Utility Bucket Trimmer who knows utility vegetation management and can step into the bucket ready to work.

This is not an entry-level tree trimming position.

We are looking for an experienced trimmer with hands-on knowledge of utility right-of-way tree and brush clearing — someone who understands how to safely and efficiently trim around utility infrastructure, operate an aerial lift, run a saw, recognize hazards, and work as part of a productive ROW crew.

If you have built your career trimming trees and clearing vegetation around power lines, we want to talk to you.

THE CANDIDATE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Our ideal candidate has real-world experience with:

• Utility vegetation management (UVM)
• Right-of-way (ROW) tree and brush clearing
• Tree trimming, pruning, and removals
• Working around energized electrical facilities
• Chainsaws, pole saws, hand saws, and tree trimming equipment
• Identifying hazardous trees, limbs, and vegetation
• Proper pruning and cutting techniques
• Rigging and tree removal operations
• Utility/customer specifications and work plans
• Safe, productive crew operations

Experience working specifically for a utility line-clearance or vegetation management contractor is highly desirable.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an experienced Bucket Trimmer with Riggs Tree Service, you will:

• Perform tree trimming, pruning, clearing, and removals from an aerial lift
• Clear trees, limbs, and brush from utility rights-of-way
• Work safely around energized electrical conductors and utility infrastructure
• Operate bucket trucks, chainsaws, pole saws, and related vegetation management equipment
• Identify hazardous trees, limbs, and vegetation conditions that could impact utility facilities
• Follow utility specifications, work plans, and customer requirements
• Assist with rigging and complex tree removals
• Support storm restoration and emergency response operations when needed
• Complete daily vehicle, equipment, and aerial lift inspections
• Work with ground crews and leadership to keep jobs safe, efficient, and productive

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT

We're searching for someone who doesn't need to be taught what utility ROW work looks like.

You’ll stand out if you have:

• Proven utility vegetation management experience
• Extensive tree and brush clearing experience
• Experience trimming around energized utility lines
• Strong chainsaw and pole saw skills
• Knowledge of electrical hazards and minimum approach distances
• Rigging experience
• CDL or the ability to obtain one
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Experience with storm restoration
• A strong safety record
• A reputation for showing up, working hard, and taking care of your crew and equipment
