Job summary

XKIG is hiring for a Bucket Operator/Trimmer to safely operate a bucket truck removing branches from electrical lines. Valid driver license required. The role carries travel for storm work and is a full-time position with health benefits and a 401K option.

Essential duties include equipment prep, operation per Foreperson, debris cleanup, barrier setup, and daily AMS reporting. Prior vegetation management and bucket truck experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in Vegetation Management.
• Bucket truck operation experience required.
• Knowledge of daily maintenance and safe operations of all equipment used.
• Must have a driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience operating woodchipper.
• Split dump driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce safe practices and rules on site.
• Prepare equipment and materials for each day’s work as directed by Foreperson.
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Help maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Assist crew members and take a leadership role when required.
• Clean up and dispose of debris; set up barriers and signs as needed.
• Keep informed on equipment specs and procedures; report changes to Foreperson.
• Track mileage and report to Foreperson; perform storm work duties when needed.
• Submit timesheets and billing information using AMS system.

• Pay or shift range: $21 USD to $23 USD
  This is an estimated pay range for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Description

The Bucket Operator/Trimmer effectively and safely operates a bucket truck to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines. Valid driver's license is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Always follow and help enforce safe practices and rules.
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work at Foreperson’s direction.
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Help maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Assist other crew members in all aspects of daily activities and take a leadership role when required.
• Cleans up and disposes of all debris.
• Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc. to protect employees and public.
• Keeps informed on new equipment, specifications, standard practices, operating procedures, and customer and company employee relations policies and practices
• Track and report mileage to Foreperson
• Perform duties for storm work as needed
• Performs daily reporting using AMS system to submit timesheets and billing information.
• Maintain above standard customer relations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Bucket Operator/Trimmer have no direct reports.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Two years’ experience in Vegetation Management.
• Bucket truck operation experience required.
• Knowledge of daily maintenance and safe operations of all equipment used.
• Able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must have a driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must have skid steer w/ mulcher operation experience.
• Experience in safe operations and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Must have experience operating woodchipper.
• Split dump driving experience preferred.
