Job summary

AbbVie is offering an 11-week onsite BTS Internship in Lake County, IL, with tracks in Software/Application Engineering and Data Engineering. Interns will design, build, and maintain enterprise applications or data infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience under inspirational leaders.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI or related majors with a minor or concentration in one of the above fields
• Graduation date between December 2027 – June 2028
• Must be enrolled in university the semester following your internship and graduate within 1-year post internship

Responsibilities

• Front End: develop, test, and maintain highly interactive, responsive user interfaces
• Back End: build backend services, APIs, and microservices in Java (Spring Boot); implement server-side logic, workflows, and data pipelines; optimize performance, scalability, and reliability
• Full Stack: own both front-end and back-end components end to end
• Data Engineering: design, build, and optimize data infrastructure and pipelines; ensure data is collected, processed, and stored securely
