Job summary

The Symicor Group seeks a BSA/AML Compliance Analyst in Los Angeles to monitor, analyze, and report on BSA/AML activity for a bank client. Position offers up to $75K and a full benefits package; not remote.

Ideal candidate has CAMS or CRCM preferred, 5+ years in BSA transaction monitoring, and strong analytical, writing, and communication skills; proficient with Excel and MS Office; stay current on BSA/AML/OFAC regulations.

Qualifications

• CAMS or CRCM certification is preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience with emphasis on BSA transaction monitoring.
• Knowledge of money-laundering laws including BSA, Patriot Act, OFAC, and SARs.
• Strong analytical abilities to handle multiple data sets.
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
• Strong technical and research skills and Excel proficiency.
• Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to draw conclusions from research and maintain urgency.

Responsibilities

• Assist in investigations for cases elevated from monthly exceptions or targeted monitoring.
• Assist in investigations for subpoenas and OFAC/314a matches and document findings.
• Prepare and file SARs within regulatory timeframes and policies.
• Manage workflow: monthly exception distribution, complex case documentation, SAR narratives.
• Assist in research and investigation of account behavior for potential unusual activity under BSA/AML/OFAC policy.
• Maintain records in organized fashion per retention schedules.
• Track monthly pending items and statistics in the BSA/AML Dept.
• Participate in alert tuning to enhance monitoring effectiveness.
• Provide compliance support to bank units on BSA/AML/OFAC matters.
• Assist in monitoring new/revised BSA/AML/OFAC laws and regulatory changes.
