Job summary

Brilla Public Charter Schools is seeking a reliable and dedicated part-time Elementary School Flex Teacher in the Bronx to cover for teachers when they are absent. The Flex Teacher will work up to 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, providing full-day coverage across multiple grade levels as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred) and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred.
• Experience with children or in an educational setting preferred.
• Able to work up to 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday.
• Must be eligible to work with students in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and supervision to students in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Follow lesson plans to ensure educational goals are met during the teacher's absence.
• Maintain a positive and productive learning environment conducive to student growth and development.
• Implement classroom management strategies to address behavior and maintain order.
• Collaborate with school staff to support the academic and social-emotional needs of students.
• Maintain open communication with classroom teachers and school administration regarding student progress and concerns.
• Flexibility to adapt to different teaching styles and curriculum materials as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the school's overall functioning.
