Job summary

The Brokerage Operations Representative II at AIT Worldwide Logistics will be responsible for booking, tracking, routing and resolving issues across the customer and carrier portfolio. You will establish and maintain carrier relationships, source capacity, quote responses and manage shipments to meet customer SLA's.

Based in Itasca, IL, this role offers opportunities to improve processes, participate in performance reviews, and grow within a global logistics team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in logistics/transportation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a TMS.
• High school diploma or GED required; higher degrees preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prospect qualified carriers by daily sourcing calls to secure capacity meeting AIT TS guidelines.
• Establish, maintain and grow customer & carrier relationships within your portfolio.
• Book all contract, expedite and ad-hoc freight as required by customer.
• Respond to customer quotations in a timely manner.
• Proactively track and trace all booked shipments daily.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues including carrier delays and order exceptions.
• Communicate accessorial charges to customers to ensure approvals.
• Handle overages, shortages and freight claims.
• Own corrective actions and identify process improvements.
• Ensure all metrics meet or exceed customer SLAs.
• Book remaining modes or transportation as needed.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries.
• Participate in customer reviews (QBRs/MBR s).
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Overview
The Brokerage Operations Representative II will be responsible for booking, tracking, routing, problem resolutions. vendor compliance and relationship building between both the customer and carrier portfolios.
Responsibilities

• Prospect qualified carriers by conducting daily sourcing calls in order to secure consistent truck capacity, who must meet AIT TS's compliance guidelines
• Establish, maintain and grow customer & carrier relationships within your assigned portfolio both internal and external
• Book all contract expedite and ad-hoc freight, as required by customer
• Respond to customer quotations in a timely manner (5 min)
• Proactively track and trace all booked shipments on a daily basis
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues including communication on carrier delays, breakdowns and other order exceptions
• Communicate accessorial charges to the customer in a timely manner to ensure approval and maximum revenue per load, as needed
• Handle overages, shortages, accessorial and freight claims properly
• Own corrective actions and identify overall process improvement
• Ensure all metrics are at or exceeding customer SLA's
• Book remaining modes or transportation (including FTL, Partial, Flatbed) as needed
• Schedule appointments for pick ups and deliveries
• Help prepare and actively participate in customer reviews (i.e. QBR's, MBR's)
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards
• The wage range for this position is $20.90-$29.50 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.

Qualifications
Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Required) and
• Associate's Degree (Preferred) or
• Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Experience

• 3+ years Experience in logistics / transportation (Required)

• Ability to problem solve, make independent decisions with minimal oversight Medium
