Job summary

Aon is seeking a seasoned Casualty Broker II to join our Construction & Infrastructure group. This hybrid role supports clients with complex construction projects, coordinating market submissions and negotiating terms with insurers. Location preferences include Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, or other Aon offices, with 2-3 days onsite weekly.

A Bachelor's degree and active license plans are required. Ideal candidates bring 5-7+ years of commercial insurance experience, strong client relationship

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of commercial insurance experience, preference for complex construction contractors.
  • Proven knowledge of the insurance brokerage business and clients’ needs across major lines.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and technical proficiency.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead placement of Casualty policies for large construction projects and annual renewing programs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop account strategies and manage marketing activities.
  • Engage with clients to deliver timely, high-quality service and support.
  • Analyze project risks and contractual terms to ensure coverage aligns with exposures.
  • Coordinate submission materials with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Present product design options and market submissions to clients and relationship managers.
  • Review quotes and binders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers.
  • Stay informed on market trends and identify growth opportunities.

Our Construction & Infrastructure Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Broker II to join our Boston team. This is a hybrid role (2-3 days onsite weekly) preferrably in Chicago, Atlanta, Boston or another Aon location.

What the day will look like

The Casualty Broker plays a key role in assessing client needs, preparing market submissions, and negotiating coverage terms with insurers to secure optimal outcomes. This role collaborates closely with the National Construction Casualty Broking Leaders, Account Executives, Originators, and Account Specialists across Aon's Commercial Risk platform.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • 5-7+ years experience of commercial insurance experience, preference for those experienced in complex construction contractors.
  • Possesses an in-depth knowledge of the insurance brokerage business and the assigned clients' needs as well as all major lines of business.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and technical proficiency.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in with emphasis in business, preferably finance or accounting or equivalent years of industry experience.

  • Must have the willingness to obtain an active Property and Casualty license within four months of hire (90 days)
Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $150,000-$200,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Boston, MA. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
