Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Broiler Service Technician to support flock health, welfare, and performance while ensuring adherence to PPC animal care standards. The role partners with growers and live production management to optimize bird outcomes.

Responsibilities include monitoring health, tracking mortality and feed, coordinating feed orders, conducting biosecurity inspections, and providing training to staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Poultry Science or related field; experience may be considered in lieu.
• 2–5 years of directly related experience preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; MTech experience is a plus.

• Serve as primary liaison between the Company and contract growers with strong communication and support.
• Monitor flock health and husbandry, providing recommendations to improve welfare and performance.
• Track, record, and analyze flock data including mortality, feed consumption, and growth trends.
• Maintain feed inventories and coordinate feed orders for timely supply.
• Ensure biosecurity and company protocol compliance via regular inspections.
• Provide technical guidance and training to growers and staff for best practices.
• Assist with chick placements and bird movements according to company standards.
• Prepare reports on flock performance, feed usage, and farm conditions for management review.
• Other duties as assigned.

Broiler Service Technician

The Broiler Service Technician is responsible for supporting and monitoring poultry flock health, welfare, and performance to ensure compliance with Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation (PPC) animal care and production standards. This role provides technical guidance to growers, implements best practices for bird management, and ensures adherence to company protocols for biosecurity, nutrition, and environmental conditions. The technician works closely with live production management and growers to maintain optimal flock performance and meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between the Company and contract growers, ensuring strong communication and support.
• Monitor flock health and husbandry practices, providing recommendations to improve bird welfare and performance.
• Track, record, and analyze flock data, including mortality rates, feed consumption, and growth trends.
• Maintain feed inventories and coordinate feed orders to ensure timely and accurate supply.
• Ensure compliance with biosecurity and company protocols, conducting regular farm inspections and reporting issues.
• Provide technical guidance and training to growers and staff, supporting best practices and operational efficiency.
• Assist with chick placements and bird movements, ensuring proper handling and scheduling according to company standards.
• Prepare and submit accurate reports on flock performance, feed usage, and farm conditions tomanagementfor review.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Education:Bachelor of Science Degree inPoultryScience or similar fieldpreferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement;
• Certifications:Current driver's license and good driving record;
• Experience:2-5 years of directly related experience preferred;
• Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office;MTechexperience is a plus. Strong communication and leadership skills, both written and verbal. Quick learner ofCompany protocols/programs and adaptable to change. Solid math and analytical abilities forproblem-solvingand decision-making. Reliable and ethical, with a strong work ethic and punctuality. Team-oriented and self-motivated, able to thrive in fast-paced environments.
