Job description

Join to apply for the Broiler Cook role at Ruth's Chris Steak House.

All BOH positions are expected to report to work as indicated on the work schedule, be in correct uniform, practice positive personal hygiene and cleanliness habits during all work shifts. Each position will obtain their station assignment at the beginning of the shift and perform all opening and closing duties as needed and directed by the Manager on Duty. Each team member will be expected to maintain the highest degree of sanitation and food safety throughout the shifts. They must adhere to all safety guidelines and practices; immediately report any unsafe condition, unsafe act, accidents and/or injuries to the Chef, or other Manager on Duty.

Duties and Expectations
  1. Assist the Chef and/or butcher in cutting meat, following Ruth's Chris Steak House standards.
  2. Communicate with the Chef regarding equipment, sanitation, safety, inventory, and food quality issues.
  3. Assist in food preparation as assigned, prepping all food products according to company standards.
  4. Supervise the kitchen line during service, ensuring quality, flow, and timing of food.
  5. Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient broil station and kitchen line.
  6. Stock the oven with hot plates, ensuring proper temperature and availability.
  7. Check and communicate par and stock levels of all ingredients and supplies.
  8. Select appropriate cuts of meat, season, cook, and plate all entrees to standards.
  9. Coordinate with other cooks to ensure timely and quality food service.
  10. Maintain the broiler's temperature and cleanliness throughout the shift.
  11. Return unused meat products to the walk-in and complete the return sheet.
  12. Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
