Job summary

WTAE Hearst Pittsburgh is seeking a part-time Stagehand to join our production crew. You will operate the teleprompter during live broadcasts and post-production, ensuring a smooth broadcast and high-quality visuals. Reports to the News Operations Manager and works a flexible schedule typical of the industry.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, in-person attendance, and readiness to support directors and on-set staff across productions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to handle the stresses of time-sensitive newscast production.
• Experience with stage/production environments is helpful.
• Must be available for in-person attendance.

Responsibilities

• Move and handle props and sets during productions.
• Install, maintain, and operate props, cameras, prompters, sets and other equipment.
• Provide lighting and prepare scripts for newscasts.
• Maintain the appearance of studios, including set and floor cleaning.
• Climb ladders to change bulbs and adjust fixtures on the grid.
• Assist the directors during productions.
