AVCON, INC. is seeking a Structural Bridge Project Engineer based in Orlando, Florida. This role involves assisting with the design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of highways and pedestrian bridges.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering, 2-5 years of bridge engineering experience, and proficiency in relevant design software. Collaborating with clients and preparing necessary documentation will be key responsibilities of this position.
As part of a design team, the primary responsibilities of the Structural Bridge Project Engineer are to assist with the design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of highway and pedestrian bridges; prepare construction plans; generate engineering calculations and reports; project specifications; cost estimates; and provide engineering oversight during construction. This position is based in AVCON's Orlando, Florida office.
There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
Work usually takes place in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting. Site visits may occasionally take place in an outdoor environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
As dictated by client site protocol, candidate will be required to utilize proper personal protective equipment including but not limited to gloves, sleeves, leather protectors, hard hats, safety vests, safety glasses and shields, hearing protection, safety shoes, covers, helmets/hoods, and any additional tools required for the task at hand.
