Job summary

Benesch seeks a licensed Professional Engineer to join the Railroad-Bridge team as lead Bridge Project Engineer. You will contribute to strategic rail projects with a strong design background and proactive problem solving.

The role emphasizes clear communication with clients, teamwork, and delivering design packages on time while managing budgets in a hybrid work setting at either Cincinnati, OH or Jacksonville, FL.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related discipline.
• MS in Civil Engineering preferred.
• PE License or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• Minimum of 4 years of structural design experience.
• Excellent communication and client relations skills.
• Detail-oriented with plans and specs development.
• Strong organization and leadership with adherence to budgets and schedules.
• Ability to perform complex analysis and design using structural software.
• Ability to assemble a complete design package for elements or projects.
• Team-oriented and able to mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic analysis of project elements.
• Perform load development, design calculations, and check work.
• Prepare organized structural calculations.
• Design structural elements and details.
• Develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner.
• Work on schedule and within budget as assigned.
• Work independently under guidance of a Project Manager.
