Our structural design team offers decades of experience in both new and existing construction, specializing in public infrastructure and industrial structures.
Bring your structural expertise to a leadership role as a Structural Project Engineer. You will take charge of design and analysis on impactful engineering projects, serve as engineer‑of‑record, and apply your strong knowledge of the International Building Code and ASCE 7 standards to deliver code‑compliant solutions. You’ll mentor junior staff while collaborating with seasoned professionals to continually grow your expertise. If you’re a licensed Professional Engineer—either in your primary state of practice or able to obtain licensure within six months—and ready to lead with confidence, contribute to complex infrastructure, and expand your influence in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply. Licensure as a Structural Engineer is preferred but not required. This position can be based out of our Billings, Helena, Bozeman, Lake Oswego, Eugene, Salem, or Vancouver office locations.
Leads structural design teams (3‑5 people) to complete structural tasks. Structures lead overseeing delivery of structural work on multi‑discipline projects.
Advanced understanding of scopes, schedules, and budgets (e.g., estimate schedule for complex tasks); able to predict and deliver individual tasks within a set level of effort. Consistently meet budget and schedule expectations on projects. Develop budgets and schedules for complex tasks. Break down complex projects into logical tasks. Mentor others on these activities. Prioritize multiple assignments to successfully deliver all assigned projects on time and on budget.
Expert understanding of standard design codes; actively mentor others on interpreting design codes and understanding their limitations.
Answer questions and resolve issues related to individual design tasks. Resolve project issues on moderate to complex projects. Interact with clients in project meetings. Consistently use appropriate communication tools and understand appropriate messaging. Understand legal risks.
Other duties as assigned.
Performs advanced levels of technical work on large, complex projects as a trusted technical member of the Market Sector. Operates with a high level of autonomy; reviews the work of others. May perform some project management tasks.
