Hamilton County in Indiana is seeking a Bridge Program Engineer to manage the County’s bridge program, ensure compliance with state requirements, and oversee project design, procurement, and construction.

The role involves coordinating with the County Highway Engineer, reviewing plans, and maintaining an asset management strategy, with responsibilities spanning budget, permits, and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in civil engineering and PE license or FE with 1 year experience.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards and regulations for bridges.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and the public.

Responsibilities

• Consult with County Highway Engineer on bridge priorities, plans, scope and objectives.
• Maintain annual Bridge Asset Management plan and prioritize maintenance/projects.
• Oversee bridge construction/repair, review invoices and authorize payments.
• Coordinate with Indiana DOT and other agencies for project alignment.

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

Indiana professional engineer license or FE exam with 1 year experience
