Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) in Cuba, MO is seeking a Bridge Maintenance Worker to perform routine and emergency repairs on bridges in the state highway system. The role offers opportunities to progress from entry-level to advanced positions within MoDOT's CAREER-LADDER framework.

Responsibilities include repairing concrete and steel bridges, painting, maintaining traffic control, and operating vehicles to support crews.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET
• Valid driver’s license
• A passing grade on the written portion of the commercial driver’s license (CDL) exam is required prior to hire date. Must pass the driving portion of the CDL exam with tanker endorsement, no air brake restrictions (Class B), and interstate status (Either EI or NI) within 60 days of hire.
• Employee will be required to pass a cardiopulmonary function test yearly, attend training on the use of respirators, and pass a respirator fit test every six months.
• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Responsabilidades

• Performs routine and emergency repairs to bridges, including concrete bridge repairs and structural steel repairs, paints and seals bridge caps, and performs deck repair and replacement.
• Paints structural steel bridges, including hanging scaffolding, cleaning and preparing bridge surfaces for painting, and mixing and applying paint using conventional or airless paint sprayers and related equipment.
• Assists in preventative maintenance functions on bridges in the state highway system.
• Sets up traffic control devices such as signs, cones, and flags; flags traffic for work zones.
• Operates vehicles and equipment to transport materials and crew to job sites; cleans and performs preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.

Job Location

Cuba Bridge Crew, 7149 Old Hwy. 66, Cuba, MO 65453.

This position is eligible for a temporary emergency operations adjustment of $3 to $6 per hour, depending on the area of operation, when handling winter/emergency operations activities.
