Job summary

VHB is seeking a Bridge Inspector in Watertown, MA, offering a hybrid schedule with a mix of office and field work. You will plan and perform structural inspections, contribute to load rating development, and support the growing bridge inspection practice within the VHB Structures group.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in bridge inspection, an EIT, and a Civil Engineering degree (structural emphasis preferred).

Qualifications

• Min 3+ years of bridge inspection experience required.
• EIT license is required.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred) is preferred.
• NHI/FHWA Safety Inspection courses are preferred.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform structural inspections of bridges, culverts, and related structures.
• Prepare proposals for new inspection contracts with marketing support.
• Ensure quality reviews of inspection narratives, sketches, photos, and cost estimates.
• Manage inspection equipment and budget to outfit teams with latest gear.
• Contribute to growth of the inspection practice across the VHB footprint.
