Job summary

WSP is seeking an Assistant Team Leader, Bridge Inspections to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in New Jersey. This role is ideal for someone starting in bridge inspection who wants to grow into a Team Leader, with opportunities across multiple NJ offices.

You will contribute to inspection projects, perform field and design-related tasks using Visio and MicroStation, and develop cost proposals while maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• 0–1 years of bridge/ancillary structure inspection experience.
• Engineer-in-Training certification, or ability to obtain within one year.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and their project applications.
• Physical ability for field work, including heights, confined spaces, and night work.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to bridge and infrastructure inspection projects.
• Serve as Assistant Team Leader for bridge and sign structure inspections.
• Perform structural engineering tasks and field inspections.
• Develop plans and sketches using Visio and MicroStation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on multiple projects.
• Assist with project research, preliminary repair calculations, and structural analysis.
• Prepare cost proposals and scope-of-work documents.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure safety compliance.
