Job description

Garver’s Transportation Design Center, an integrated team specializing in delivering bridge projects, inspections, and load ratings, is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader for our Oklahoma City, OK office. A remote or hybrid work arrangement is negotiable. This role involves collaborating with in-house engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure successful inspections and reporting.

This Bridge Inspection Team Leader will primarily conduct SNBI bridge inspections, including fieldwork and related office tasks. Travel across Oklahoma and Texas is expected, with occasional work in other states. Opportunities exist to expand into load rating and bridge rehabilitation projects.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Performing routine bridge and culvert inspections to SNBI and state standards as Inspection Team Leader
2. Coordinating site visits for inspections
3. Assisting with underwater inspections
4. Documenting inspections following company procedures
5. Uploading inspection files daily to specialized interfaces
6. Data entry related to bridge inspections
7. Fieldwork involving physical tasks such as carrying ladders and gear, working at heights, and in various weather conditions
8. Performing NSTM inspections

As experience with Garver’s inspection practices grows, additional project and staff management responsibilities may develop.

Experience Requirements:

• Completion of NHI Course No. 130055 (Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges)
• 5-10 years of related experience
• Proficiency in MS Office

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• NHI Course No. 130078 (Fracture Critical Techniques for Steel Bridges)
• NHI Course No. 130091 (Underwater Bridge Inspection)
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Experience with InspectX or similar asset management software
• Proficiency with MicroStation and AASHTOWare Bridge Rating software
