Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a Structural Design Engineer for our Columbia, MD area office locations (also in Herndon, VA and Washington, DC). You will lead bridge and highway sign structure designs, prepare reports, estimates, and construction documents.

Travel may be required; PE license with Maryland licensure within 6 months is preferred. Applicants should have a minimum of 4 years of related experience and a BS in Civil Engineering, with proficiency in LEAP, MicroStation, STADD PRO, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license with ability to obtain Maryland licensure within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Prepare and oversee the preparation of bridge and highway sign structures designs, reports, studies, specifications, provisions, and construction documents.
Prepare engineering and design documents, computations, and quantity estimates.
Develop probable construction cost estimates for projects.
Perform condition inspections of bridge structures and highway sign structures.
Prepare condition inspections reports.
Manage bridge projects, including budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
Be responsible for the timely completion of assigned tasks within projects.
