Job summary

Civil Design Inc. is seeking a Bridge Engineer Project Manager to lead the Structures/Bridge Group and manage a variety of bridge projects. You will coordinate design efforts, sign/seal work, and collaborate with clients, contractors, and officials while traveling up to 10% of the time.

The role emphasizes leadership, quality design, and a people-first culture with flexible scheduling and ESOP benefits. A Master’s degree, PE, and extensive bridge experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in civil or structural engineering; PE licensure preferred.
• Registered PE required or eligible.
• IL licensure preferred; bridge inspection certification preferred.

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is a multi-disciplined civil engineering firm offering civil site, structural, land surveying, and GIS services. Since its founding in 1996, our team has grown to over 150 team members with six locations. We operate in three states serving our six service lines - Infrastructure + Analytics, Site, Structures, Survey, Transportation, and Water Resources. We are looking for a Bridge Engineer Project Manager to support our CDI mission in Building Stronger Communities. By leading projects and guiding the next generation of engineers, you will support our mission and developing a better tomorrow.

The Structural Bridge Project Manager will be an integral part of our Structures/Bridge Group, leading team members who design various bridges and structures, and supporting our transportation and site development groups with their design needs. Key Responsibilities:

• Managing structural engineering projects by creating scope and budgets, directing the design, and coordinating work with other staff and design team members.
• Signing/sealing work as required.
• Analyzing and designing transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and sign structure foundations.
• Serving as a key point of contact with clients, contractors, and local officials.
• Displaying an eagerness to work on a wide variety of project types.
• Assisting in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
• Working collaboratively with the CDI Structural Service Leadership, Project Engineers, and other team members to develop effective solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with CDI's safety procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Being able to lead a project that includes collaboration with the team as well as managing tasks and being responsive to client needs.
• Proficient with MicroStation and ORD platforms.
• Project Management experience with DOT clients.
• Positive attitude
• Ability to be self-directed with focus on quality while working within a team.
• Highly proficient with structural analysis and design software.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while possessing strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of bridge construction materials (Steel, Cast-in-Place Concrete, Precast Prestressed Concrete), construction methods, structural inspections, and construction document preparation.

Education and Experience

• Master's degree in civil or structural engineering (a plus but not required).
• Registered PE.
• IL Structural Engineer licensure (preferred qualification).
• Team Leader Bride Inspection certification (preferred qualification).
• 10 years plus of bridge design experience.

This role can be based out of the Collinsville, IL, Effingham, IL, Jefferson City, MO, St. Louis, MO, Louisville, KY, or Prestonsburg, KY. The travel expected is up to 10%.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000-$150,000/year. Compensation will vary based upon relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
