Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join the Transportation Business Group and help shape mobility infrastructure.

You will apply structural engineering and detailing techniques on highway and railway projects, develop designs with specialized software, and perform load calculations to ensure safe, efficient structures. The role requires a PE license and experience in bridge design, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and collaborate in an employee-owned

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board.
Experience in bridge design.
Familiarity with software packages such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, MIDAS Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSIBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.
Experience managing junior staff.
Excellent communication skills and teamwork.
Active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques.
Work on bridge design projects including steel, prestressed concrete, segmental, and cable bridges.
Develop structural details using software and perform load calculations.
Review, assign work and check designs and calculations prepared by junior engineers.
Perform other duties as needed.
