Job summary

HNTB in Raleigh, NC, is seeking engineers to advance multi‑discipline infrastructure projects. You will progress designs independently, develop reports and plans, and support project specifications while coordinating with teammates across disciplines.

Candidates typically hold engineering degrees (Bachelor’s with 4+ years, Master’s with 3, or PhD with 2) and bring strong MS Office and MicroStation skills. The role offers exposure to major projects and the chance to contribute to communities

Responsibilities

  • Completes assigned work within the schedule and hours provided.
  • Assist in the development of project specifications.
  • Develop discipline-specific engineering project elements and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and improve productivity of project team members.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Perform quality control reviews of engineering deliverables.
  • Assist with schedule planning and workload distribution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do
  • Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
  • Assist in the development of project specifications.
  • Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
  • Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
  • Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
  • Works closely with other disciplines and on multi‑discipline projects.
  • Performs quality control reviews of discipline‑specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
  • Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience.
  • PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.
What You’ll Bring
  • Optimizing work processes by using knowledge of the most effective and efficient ways to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Independently progresses the majority of designs and tasks required of the discipline.
  • Exhibiting experience with Microsoft Office Suite and MicroStation.
  • Exhibiting a thorough understanding of the application related to engineering, geometric and algebraic principles.
  • Managing time, proactively forecasting, and communicating project development needs.
What We Prefer
  • Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Knowledgeable in MicroStation and OpenBridge Designer.
  • Experience with NC and SC Design Standards and Manuals.
