Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Austin, TX is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our team. You will inspect bridges, develop bridge and structural plans, and contribute to transportation projects for TXDOT and local agencies.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, 2+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to travel. Proficiency with MicroStation and GEOPAK/OpenBridge is a plus. Excellent communication and documentation skills are a must.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience; internship helpful.
• Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state as needed.
• Strong communication and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect bridges and develop plans for transportation projects.
• Prepare designs and contract documents for repairs or replacements.
• Review shop drawings and provide project coordination.
• Perform field inspections and document defects.
