Bridge Engineer

Job summary

HDR is seeking a Bridge Engineer to design and analyze bridge structures in a collaborative, employee-owned environment. The role requires strong teamwork and hands-on use of advanced engineering software for bridges, including precast and steel designs, rehabilitation work, and inspections.

As an integral part of HDR’s Bridges and Structures team, you will mentor junior staff, contribute to project delivery, and support the firm’s inclusive culture and community impact goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and prior experience in bridge design.
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and listed engineering software packages for bridge design.
• Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, OpenBridge Designer/Modeler and/or Autodesk InfraWorks and Civil3D.
• Experience leading and mentoring junior staff; strong communication.

In the role of Bridge Engineer, we'll count on you to:

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering
• Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, Midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, ADINA, RM Bridge, spColumn, LUSAS, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge
• Experience in bridge/structural design including precast concrete bridges, steel bridges, bridge rehabilitations, bridge widenings, box culverts, retaining wall and bridge inspection

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Previous experience in bridge design
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
• Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.
• Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bently OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, Prestress Concrete Design
• Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software
• Experience managing junior staff
• Excellent communication skills and working in a team environment
