In the role of Bridge EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs.
  • Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete), box culvert, sign structures, retaining walls and interchange design for highway projects.
  • Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, and develop structural details using specialized software.
  • Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
  • Develop structural details using basic structural design and analysis software.
  • Participate in bridge inspection, perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Experience in bridge/structural design including deep foundation design and prestressed concrete design.
  • Knowledge of Projectwise, BGS, Bridgelink; familiarity with TxDOT bridge design manuals, guidance, bridge standards, preferred practices and software.
  • Experience using Microstation, OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, Projectwise, MathCAD, Bluebeam.
  • Familiarity with engineering software packages such as BGS, SPColumn, BridgeLink.
Required Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and knowledge of engineering software packages such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.
  • Bentley OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d.
  • Strong understanding and hands‑on use of computers for structural layout and design.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture – a must.
