Job summary

HDR is seeking a Bridge EIT to join our Transportation group in Dallas, TX. You will apply structural engineering and detailing techniques to develop bridge designs, including diverse bridge types for highway and rail projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, have experience with a range of engineering software, and can work well in a collaborative, employee-owned culture. Full-time, on-site role with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• MS Office, MathCAD and AutoCAD, LARSA and Prestress Concrete Design experience.
• Knowledge of and some familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.
• Knowledge of Bentley OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3D.

Responsibilities

• Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs.
• Work on projects including bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
• Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, and develop structural details using specialized software.
• Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Participate in bridge inspection, perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Bridge EIT, we'll count on you to:

• Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs
• Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects
• Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, and develop structural details using specialized software
• Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development
• Participate in bridge inspection, perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering
• Experience in bridge/structural design
• Familiarity with additional engineering software packages such as: BridgeLink, LARSA, ADINA, Cap18

Required Qualifications

• MS Office, MathCAD and AutoCAD, LARSA and Prestress Concrete Design experience

• Strong understanding and hands-on use of computers for structural layout and design
• Good communication skills and willing to work in a team environment
