Jobot is seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our engineering team in Indianapolis. You will create detailed designs using CAD tools, with a focus on AutoCAD, and leverage Microstation/Geopak experience where applicable.

Bridge design and rebar detailing will be central to the role, complementing collaboration with engineers on complex projects. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in a similar role, strong drawing skills, and the drive to stay current with CAD advancements.

Qualifications

• Degree in drafting or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in a similar engineering role.
• Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD.
• Experience in bridge design and rebar detailing.
• Excellent technical drawing skills and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of engineering design principles and construction methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Strong problem-solving and deadline management.
• Proactive in learning and skills development.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD software to produce detailed designs and drawings for projects.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate requirements into technical plans.
• Design and detail bridge structures and rebar detailing plans.
• Check drawings to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Support the engineering team in project meetings and reviews.
• Ensure drawings meet quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with other CAD Technicians to meet deadlines.
• Stay current with CAD software updates and new technologies.
