Thimble Alterations is seeking a skilled wedding dress specialist to join our network of independent alteration professionals. The specialist will be responsible for tailoring bridal gowns, including alterations and custom bustles, while working flexibly from a home studio.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with bridal or fine formalwear, excellent measuring techniques, and strong communication skills with clients. This role offers an opportunity to build long-term relationships and repeat business.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience tailoring bridal or fine formalwear.
• Comfort working with multi-layer garments and structured construction.
• Accurate measuring and fitting technique.
• Reliable communication with brides and clear delivery timelines.

Responsibilities

• Hem, take in, and let out wedding dresses across all silhouettes.
• Build custom bustles suited to each gown's train.
• Adjust bodices, alter straps and necklines, and install or repair zippers.
