Job summary

Duke University School of Medicine's Division of Surgical Oncology at the Duke Cancer Institute seeks a full-time, fellowship-trained Breast Surgical Oncologist to join one of the nation's premier academic breast programs.

The successful candidate will contribute to clinical practice across Duke Health locations, participate in teaching of students and residents, and engage in scholarly activities. Academic rank will reflect experience and accomplishments.

Qualifications

  • Completed fellowship training in Breast Surgery or Surgical Oncology and eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina.
  • Preference for candidates with at least three years of post-fellowship academic experience; outstanding candidates at all career stages are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Join a high-volume breast surgery practice delivering patient-centered care.
  • Practice may involve multiple Duke Health sites, including academic and community settings.
  • Participate in clinical, educational, and academic missions and mentor learners and staff.
  • Engage in quality improvement and scholarly activities; pursue clinical, translational, or outcomes research as desired.
  • Rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.

Overview

The Division of Surgical Oncology in the Department of Surgery and the Duke Cancer Institute at Duke University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time, fellowship-trained Breast Surgical Oncologist to join one of the nation's premier academic breast programs.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have completed fellowship training in Breast Surgery or Surgical Oncology and be eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina. Preference will be given to candidates with at least three years of post-fellowship experience in an academic setting; however, outstanding candidates at all career stages are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will join a high-volume breast surgery practice committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care and provide outstanding comprehensive breast surgical care. It is anticipated that this position will consist primarily of clinical activities.
  • Clinical practice includes both academic and community-based locations within the Duke Health system and may involve providing care at more than one clinical site.
  • The successful candidate will participate fully in the clinical, educational, and academic missions of the Division through excellence in patient care, multidisciplinary collaboration, teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers, and participation in quality improvement and other scholarly activities.
  • Opportunities are available for candidates interested in clinical, translational, or outcomes-based research, supported by the extensive resources of Duke University and the Duke Cancer Institute.
  • Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
