University of Maryland Capital Region Health is seeking a Breast Nurse Practitioner (NP) to deliver patient-centered care from the initial abnormal finding through diagnosis, treatment, recovery, survivorship, and long-term follow-up within a growing breast program.

You will work as a trusted clinical partner alongside breast surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, genetic specialists, navigators, and other members of the multidisciplinary cancer team to provide

Aufgaben

• Evaluate new and established patients through comprehensive histories and physical examinations.
• Care for patients with breast masses, abnormal imaging, breast cancer, benign breast disease, and treatment-related concerns.
• Review imaging, pathology, laboratory results, and diagnostic studies with the care team.
• Partner with physicians to develop individualized treatment, surveillance, and follow-up plans.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care for breast surgery patients.
• Manage postoperative needs including wound care, drains, pain management, infection concerns, and other clinical issues.
• Educate and empower patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, medications, side effects, and what to expect throughout care.
• Provide survivorship and ongoing surveillance care.
• Recognize psychosocial, financial, nutritional, genetic, and supportive-care needs and connect patients with resources.
