Job summary

ChristianaCare Health System is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures, ensure safety protocols, and maintain quality control across imaging workflows in a fast-paced radiology department.

The role requires ARRT radiology and MRI registrations, State Radiation Protection licensure, and CPR certification, with an emphasis on patient history, consent, and monitoring during scanning. Training on IV access and contrast injectors is included.

Qualifications

• Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology.
• ARRT MRI registry completion within 2 years of hire.
• State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
• Associate’s degree required; must obtain AS degree within 3 years.
• CPR certification.
• Yearly PEEPS certification for proper positioning and transfer of patients.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in MRI units and radiology systems.
• Performs MRI procedures and quality control per departmental protocols.
• Performs MRI safety screenings and checks for implants prior to scanning.
• Maintains compliance with regulations and Joint Commission standards.
• Completes imaging and non-imaging procedures within scheduled times.
• Enter accurate patient study information into care systems.
• Coordinate workflow and patient care activities.
• Obtain patient history and consent for examinations.
• Verify insurance pre-authorization prior to scanning.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and use two identifiers.
• Demonstrate IV access and monitor patient status.
• Proficiency with contrast injectors and i-STAT testing.
