Job summary

UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine are seeking Breast Imaging Radiologists (MD/DO) to join our growing team across North Carolina. Opportunities include fully onsite, hybrid with remote reads, or per diem options.

Positions are available at UNC Health Johnston (Clayton), Nash (Rocky Mount), Caldwell (Greater Hickory Metro), and Rockingham (Eden). Responsibilities include mammography interpretation, biopsies, MRI guidance, QA oversight, and tumor board participation.

Qualifications

• MD or DO (board-certified or board-eligible Radiologist) licensing in NC MQSA certification is preferred.
• Experience with breast imaging including ultrasound, stereotactic, and MRI-guided procedures.

Responsibilities

• Interpret screening and diagnostic mammography examinations.
• Perform breast imaging procedures including ultrasound-guided and stereotactic biopsies.
• Interpret breast MRI and perform MRI-guided biopsies.
• Lead interpreting physician for breast imaging services with oversight of QA, regulatory compliance and accreditation of the mammography facility.
• Participate in multidisciplinary breast tumor board conferences and collaborate with surgical, medical, and radiation oncology colleagues.
• Support implementation and growth of advanced breast imaging services, including contrast-enhanced mammography.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative partners to support program growth and operational excellence.

Position Responsibilities:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• MD or equivalent
• Board certified or board eligible Radiologist
• Eligible for licensure in the State of North Carolina
• MQSA certification
• Experience with breast imaging procedures, including ultrasound, stereotactic and MRI-guided

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

• Fellowship training in Breast Imaging or equivalent clinical experience
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Interest or experience in clinical program development in a community-based setting
