Job summary

Novant Health Cancer Institute - Elizabeth is seeking a full-time Clinical Pharmacist to support breast cancer care across Charlotte Region locations. You will verify chemotherapy orders, review treatment plans, and collaborate with oncology providers and nursing to deliver exceptional patient care.

Oncology experience and PGY2/hospital experience are highly preferred. The role involves clinical review, patient counseling, and potential travel to multiple cancer institutes as needed.

Qualifications

• Oncology experience is needed, PGY2 and hospital experience highly preferred.
• Requires PGY1/PGY2 residency or two years of hospital pharmacist experience.
• Current pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Clinical review, entry and modification of oncology treatment plans.
• Oncology order verification, hazardous and non-hazardous sterile admixture check.
• Partner with clinic providers and nursing to provide remarkable patient care.
• Proficiency with equipment and software.
• Resident (PGY1/PGY2) and student precepting.
• Participation in committees such as P&T, tumor boards and shared governance.
• Order set review and development.
• Medication therapy management and patient counseling including oncology/hematology medications and symptom management.
• Maintains proficiency in preceptor roles and actively emulates education/mentorship skills.
• Flexibility to travel to other cancer institutes and/or infusion centers as needed
