Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Breakfast Cook for the Market Grille in a fast-paced morning kitchen. You will prep ingredients, assemble dishes according to recipes, and keep the line running smoothly from the first shift through the last.

Responsibilities include friendly customer service, accurate food prep, and strict sanitation. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and prior kitchen experience is preferred. Training is provided, and daytime shifts are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or experience.
• Prior kitchen or food service experience preferred (six months or less).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and provide friendly service.
• Prepare cooking surfaces and kitchen for service.
• Prepare vegetables, sides, meats and breakfast items per recipes.
• Place food in hot cases and monitor quantities; refill as needed.
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to ensure a smooth transition.
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness; follow sanitation procedures.
• Work with teammates to ensure customer satisfaction and a positive environment.
• Report to work on time and follow Hy-Vee policies.

You will have frequent exposure to cool and warm temperatures, dampness, equipment noise and vibrations, possible equipment movement hazards from slicers and choppers, and daily exposure to cleaning chemicals or solvents.
