Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Breakdown Coordinator to help maintain continuous service by coordinating events and dispatching the nearest qualified service provider. You will verify authorization, manage ETA communications, and solve issues as they arise in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates bring a strong background in dispatching for breakdowns or tire services, and the ability to multitask across a 24/7 operation. Training and shifts include evenings, weekends, and overnights as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 3 years of dispatching experience in breakdown or tire services, or alternative qualifications with related discipline.
• Strong dispatching and multitasking knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and assign all open events.
• Verify proper authorization to dispatch the event.
• Assign the nearest service provider for repairs.
• Advise the customer of ETA and follow requirements.
• Inform supervisor on duty of delays or problems with ETA/repairs.
• Address problems and customer inquiries as they arise.

In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the seamless flow of our operations by troubleshooting the event to ensure the appropriate Service Provider is dispatched. Work hours will vary to ensure market coverage, as we provide service 24/7/365.

What You'll Do

• Assess and assign all open events.
• Verify proper authorization has been obtained to dispatch the event.
• Assign the appropriate and nearest service provider to make requested repairs.
• Advise the customer of the estimated time of arrival and follow instructions according to their requirements.
• Inform supervisor on duty of any delays with the service provider's estimated time of arrival or problems with repairs.
• Address problems and customer inquiries as they arise.

You are a proactive problem solver who is eager to grow their career in the automotive industry. Here’s what else you bring to the table:

Minimum:

• High school diploma or GED and 3 years of experience in a related field (Dispatching for breakdown and/or tire, medium to heavy duty vehicle maintenance). The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as an advanced degree or certification in a related discipline (Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Technology) or 5 years of experience in a related field (Dispatching for breakdown and/or tire, medium to heavy duty vehicle maintenance).
• A strong knowledge of dispatching and multitasking.

Preferred:

• Degree in related discipline or industry experience

Availability:

• Class start date: November 2 & December 7, 2026
• Training schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm ET
• Available work schedules: TBD, but we operate in a 24/7/365 environment. Most work schedules will be either weekend, 2nd (Evening/Nights), or 3rd (Overnights) shift

USD 18.17 - 27.31 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $18.17 - $27.31/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of 6.67 hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
