Job summary

85°C Bakery Cafe in Cherry Hill, NJ is hiring for entry-level bakery positions (Bread Bakers, Cake Decorators, and Separators). This full-time/part-time role offers $17.50 hourly pay with early morning, weekend, and holiday availability preferred.

As a team member, you will produce and prepare bakery products, decorate cakes, and package items while upholding safety and quality standards. High school diploma preferred; ServSafe certification may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous bakery, cake decorating, food production, restaurant, or kitchen experience preferred.
• Availability to work at least 20 hours per week for part time, 32 hours per week for full time.
• Early morning, weekend, and holiday availability is strongly preferred.
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification may be required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Produce, bake, decorate, assemble, or separate bakery products according to recipes and quality standards.
• Measure, mix, finish products following established procedures.
• Decorate cakes with precision while maintaining presentation and consistency.
• Package finished products for distribution and sale.
• Monitor product quality and maintain a clean, sanitary work area.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, Health Department, and company regulations.
• Operate bakery equipment safely and maintain it in good condition.
• Work to meet daily production schedules and deadlines.
• Assist with inventory rotation and quality control.

What You'll Do

Depending on your assigned position, you'll be responsible for producing and preparing high-quality bakery products while maintaining our commitment to food safety, consistency, and exceptional quality.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare, bake, decorate, assemble, or separate bakery products according to job role, company recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
• Measure, mix, prepare, and finish products while following established production procedures.
• Decorate cakes with precision while maintaining presentation and consistency standards (Cake Decorator).
• Separate, organize, package, and prepare finished bakery products for distribution and sale (Separator).
• Monitor product quality throughout the production process.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, Health Department, and company regulations.
• Properly operate, clean, and maintain bakery equipment.
• Work efficiently to meet daily production schedules and deadlines.
• Assist with inventory rotation and quality control.
• Cross-train and support other bakery or storefront departments as business needs require.
• Work collaboratively with store leadership and fellow associates.
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and follow all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous bakery, cake decorating, food production, restaurant, or kitchen experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Repetitive hand and wrist movements while preparing bakery products.
• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, and lifting.
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Working around hot ovens, bakery equipment, and temperature-controlled environments, including coolers and freezers.
