Job summary

Johnsonville is seeking a Team Lead for our manufacturing floor to drive safety, quality and productivity standards across the line. You will mentor Members, coordinate line activities and collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to sustain Johnsonville Way practices.

The ideal candidate has the ability to lead, train others, and respond quickly to production priorities while ensuring compliance with GMP, sanitation and safety policies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must follow safety policies and GMP standards.
• Capable of multitasking on a fast-moving line.
• Able to read basic instructions and paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Know and follow safety policies; may be trained on Lock Out Tag Out or forklift programs.
• Follow GMP, SOP, and safe food handling practices.
• Operate equipment to match line pace.
• Cross-train to various positions within/outside department.
• Follow daily production schedules and complete required paperwork.
• Set up and tear down equipment as assigned.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will ensure compliance with safety, quality, production and sanitation requirements driven by Reliability Excellence; function as a technical and business resource in areas of system operations, work towards continuous improvements in performance measures by leading actions for assigned duties. The Team Lead will be expected to lead, motivate and facilitate learning for Members to achieve productivity results, improve individual skills and enhance teamwork. The Team Lead will also be expected to establish and sustain effective relationships with all Members to foster an environment where innovation, cooperation and ownership are used to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Know and follow all safety policies involved in the position. This may include being trained as an authorized Member of the Lock Out Tag Out, or forklift program(s).


• Follow all GMP, SOP, and safe food handling practices.


• Operation of equipment to keep pace with line speed.


• Cross-train to various positions within and possibly outside of the department.


• Follow daily production schedules for products running that day.


• Complete daily paperwork as required by the equipment being operated.


• Proper set up and tear down of equipment as assigned.


• All other duties as assigned

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience

• Experience with Red Zone a plus

Skills

• Ability to perform responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner.


• Multitasking required.


• Basic reading skills


• Requires full range of body motion: standing, squatting, kneeling, upper body twisting: occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.


• Ability to take on future learning opportunities.
