Job summary

Lunenburg Public Schools is seeking an Instrumental Instructor for Brass for the After School Music Program in Lunenburg, MA. The role requires teaching trumpet, trombone, baritone, French horn, and tuba, with experience in private brass instruction and pedagogical training.

The instructor will train students in studio pedagogy, prepare repertoire with in-school teachers, and gauge each student’s ability to offer audition opportunities for Districts as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Strong communications skills; verbal and non-verbal.
• Experience in private teaching on brass instruments.
• Pedagogically trained as a brass specialist.
• Bachelor degree preferred (as stated)

Responsibilities

• Train students in studio pedagogy and practice techniques to improve proficiency on brass instruments.
• Help prepare repertoire assigned by in-school music teachers, including book work and concert pieces.
• Gauge each student’s ability and offer opportunities to audition for Junior and/or Senior Districts when appropriate.
• Support after-school program goals and contribute to ensemble readiness.
