Story is hiring a Brand Strategy Director to lead brand strategy for its deep-tech and science clients. You’ll turn research into clear positioning, messaging, and creative briefs; own client relationships; and mentor strategists.

You’ll work closely with creative and client teams to carry that strategy into work people can understand and believe. You’ll lead brand platforms from research through positioning to actionable briefs, mentor strategists, and collaborate with designers to translate

• Experience leading brand strategy or account planning at an agency, consultancy, or studio.
• Experience owning client relationships and contributing to account growth.
• Proven track record of mentoring strategists.
• Ability to build a brand platform from research through a usable brief.
• Experience pitching and scoping new work.
• Strong writing, presentation, and collaboration skills.
• Based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate.

We’re hiring a Brand Strategy Director to lead brand strategy for Story’s deep-tech and science clients. You’ll turn research into clear positioning, messaging, and creative briefs; own client relationships; and mentor strategists. You’ll work closely with creative and client teams to carry that strategy into work people can understand and believe.

Responsibilities:

• Lead client accounts across strategy, delivery, relationships, and opportunities to grow the work.

• Build brand platforms from research through positioning, messaging architecture, and actionable creative briefs.

• Lead and mentor strategists, reviewing their strategic thinking and client-facing work.

• Partner with designers and creative teams to turn strategic recommendations into finished work.

• Contribute to new business pitches, scope discovery work, and plan subsequent phases.

• Interview founders and scientists and translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives.

Requirements:

• Experience leading brand strategy or account planning at an agency, consultancy, or studio.

• Experience owning client relationships and contributing to account growth.
