Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing cost models and data-driven insights for private label negotiations.
  • Support supplier contracts, product cost changes, reporting and analytics.
  • Define and manage product taxonomy, attributes, classification and search results.
  • Assist in determining product category strategy and supplier selections.
  • Support marketing with data analysis and cross-functional collaboration to improve customer experience.

Compensation

This position is hourly. The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $24.00/hr and $27.00/hr.

The pay range provided above is not a guarantee of compensation. The range reflects the potential base pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part, on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills.

The anticipated compensation range described above is subject to change and the compensation ultimately paid may be higher or lower than the range described above.

During the 10-week paid internship, there is an opportunity to further explore your career options while simultaneously gaining intensive, hands-on experience. You will be part of a structured experience that combines learning about our business, contributing to your department, and having fun. Each intern will have a meaningful project that contributes to the Grainger business and will provide a formal presentation to leaders and fellow team members at the end of the program. The summer schedule is filled with professional development sessions, executive learning sessions, and social events to connect with other interns. You Will:

We are looking for students who have a strong interest in continuous learning, great communication skills, and a passion to contribute to an outstanding team. The below information demonstrates what skills are vital to succeed in the internship program. As an intern, you could potentially be placed in one of the following areas:

Brand, Online Experience and Assortment

Grainger Global Supply Engineering

Support development of cost models and data-driven insights for private label negotiation discussions, gaining exposure to global sourcing to the organization

Operations

Learn the work that supports supplier contracts, product cost changes, reporting and analytics, customer-specific solutions, product lifecycle transitions, or product compliance.

Product Information

& Search

Define and manage internal product taxonomy, attribute schema, product classification and search results to ensure customers can find, select, and confirm product selections.

Determine product category strategy by selecting products and suppliers, negotiating product cost, and managing the accuracy of product information for items sourced domestically and internationally.

Marketing

Marketing provides hands‑on experience in data analysis, customer feedback review, and cross‑functional collaboration to improve customer experience and support strategic initiatives. This role involves working with managers and stakeholders to drive improvements and deliver impactful insights across the organization

You Have:
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • No visa sponsorships now or in the future.
  • Currently enrolled in a college or University, working towards a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Business Analytics, Marketing, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, or related majors.
  • Intermediate level of expertise in MS Office is required (especiallyformulas, pivot tables, or data analysis).
  • Proven communication (written / verbal), interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven analytical skills including an ability to synthesize information, reach logical conclusions, evaluate and improve processes.
  • Expected graduation between December 2027 – June 2028.
Preferred (Not Required):
  • Academic or internship experience working with data sets, analytics, or business intelligence
  • Exposure to tools such as SQL, Python, R, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Coursework or project experience in analytics, statistics, data science, or information systems
