Job description

Unusual Machines is a U.S.-based drone and drone parts company focused on the small and First-Person View (FPV) segments of the drone market. Our brands - Rotor Riot, Fat Shark, Rotor Lab and - coming soon - Upgrade Energy - are some of the most respected names in FPV and have helped shape the industry through e-commerce, product development, and a deep connection with the pilot community.

We’re expanding into enterprise and defense - bringing our obsessive attention to performance, design, and U.S.-based manufacturing into high-stakes environments like search and rescue and military innovation. With several of our products already approved by the Defense Innovation Unit, we’re solving procurement issues for customers who demand speed, agility, and compliance.

If you love working at the intersection of community, content, and cutting-edge technology, you’ll feel right at home here.

You in This Role

As the Brand Marketing Manager, you will own and evolve the brand strategy for Unusual Machines and its portfolio of brands, including Rotor Riot, Fat Shark, and Upgrade Energy. You’ll serve as the steward of our brand identity—shaping how we show up in the market, how we tell our story, and how customers connect with our products across every touchpoint, both physically and digitally.

This role blends strategy and execution. You’ll define brand positioning, translate insights into compelling campaigns, and ensure consistency across digital, physical, and experiential channels. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Creative to bring our vision to life while using data and customer feedback to continuously refine our approach.

We are seeking a Product-Driven Brand Manager to own the market positioning of our American-made drone component manufacturing company . You will translate complex hardware and product capabilities into clear competitive advantages, driving adoption across hobbiest, commercial and defense sectors. You are both a creative thinker and a disciplined operator—comfortable building narratives, launching campaigns, and measuring performance to drive growth, loyalty, and long-term brand equity.

A Day in the Life
  • Partnering with leadership in defining and refining brand positioning and messaging across the Unusual Machines technical product and social presence portfolio
  • Leading integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, and offline channels
  • Tracking rival features, pricing changes, market share shifts, and category trends.
  • Partnering with Product and Creative teams to ensure brand consistency across launches and packaging
  • Analyzing market trends, competitive activity, and consumer insights
  • Translating customer feedback and VoC data into actionable brand improvements
  • Collaborating with Sales to align brand strategy with go-to-market and revenue objectives
  • Lead the implementation of leveraging customer data to drive meaningful change in our overall consumer experience
  • Reviewing campaign performance, KPIs, and ROI to optimize future efforts
  • Managing brand budgets and prioritizing spend for maximum impact
  • Overseeing social media strategy, community engagement, and brand voice
What You’ll Do
  • Partner with leadership to define and refine brand positioning and messaging across Unusual Machines’ portfolio of technical products, businesses, and social channels.
  • Build a brand that is credible, authentic, and product-first—translating complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling messaging without turning the brand into something overly polished or lifestyle-driven.
  • Develop brand strategies that resonate with technical, enthusiast, commercial, and defense-oriented audiences while maintaining the distinct personality of Unusual Machines and its portfolio brands.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive brand marketing strategy aligned with company objectives
  • Create brand guidelines to allow the organization the framework to leverage brand assets across media, packaging, and web assets
  • Drive branding initiatives for a both B2B and B2C consumer-base
  • Partnerin the creative development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns
  • Establish and manage Voice of Customer (VoC) programs to inform strategy and improve brand perception
  • Ensure consistent brand expression across product packaging, digital assets, and physical touchpoints
  • Monitor market dynamics, customer insights, and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities
  • Measure campaign effectiveness using KPIs and performance analytics, and report results to leadership
  • Manage and optimize the brand marketing budget to maximize ROI
  • Partner cross-functionally to support product launches and long-term brand growth
What You’ll Bring
Required
  • Experience building, managing, or scaling a brand in a technical, hardware, manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, defense, automotive, electronics, or enthusiast-driven environment.

  • The ability to balance strong creative instincts with technical credibility and commercial objectives.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, hands-on environment where the product comes first and the brand needs to feel authentic rather than overly curated.
  • Proven experience as a Brand Manager, Associate Brand Manager, or similar role
  • Strong ability to develop and communicate brand and marketing strategies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and storytelling skills
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and performance measurement skills
  • Deep understanding of the full marketing mix and audience targeting
