Position Summary

The Visual Designer will lead and support strategic creative efforts across client brand, marketing, digital, and product initiatives. This role requires a highly capable designer with strong conceptual thinking, refined executional skills, sound judgment, and an ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced agency environment.

The ideal candidate is not only an accomplished visual designer, but also an organized and proactive problem-solver who understands how creative work moves from idea to delivery. They should be comfortable building and maintaining design systems, collaborating across disciplines, managing project details, and communicating clearly with both internal teams and clients.

This role requires deep knowledge of Figma as a connected design ecosystem—not simply as a canvas for creating layouts. The Visual Designer should understand how to use Figma libraries, components, variants, variables, prototyping, Dev Mode, collaboration practices, and system governance to create scalable, efficient, and consistent work.

Candidates must also demonstrate an active interest in artificial intelligence and a commitment to learning how AI tools can improve creative exploration, production, communication, research, and workflow efficiency. We are looking for someone who applies emerging tools thoughtfully, maintains high creative standards, and understands when human judgment, craft, and strategic thinking are essential.

Key Responsibilities
Design and Creative Execution
  • Apply strong fundamentals in design, visual communication, color theory, typography, composition, and hierarchy.
  • Develop thoughtful, strategically grounded visual concepts for brand, campaign, digital, and product-marketing initiatives.
  • Work confidently within established design systems, style guides, brand standards, and component libraries.
  • Create and evolve visual identity systems that are scalable, cohesive, and effective across channels.
  • Produce polished design deliverables across presentations, campaigns, social content, websites, product marketing, print, environmental, and other brand touchpoints.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail, consistency, and production quality throughout all stages of a project.
Figma, Digital, and Design Systems
  • Use Figma as a robust collaborative design ecosystem, including libraries, components, variants, variables, auto layout, responsive behaviors, prototyping, Dev Mode, and file organization.
  • Build, maintain, and govern scalable Figma design systems that support consistency, usability, and efficient collaboration across teams.
  • Establish clear Figma workflows, naming conventions, component structures, documentation, and handoff practices.
  • Create clean, scalable UI/UX designs that align with brand strategy, user needs, accessibility considerations, and technical requirements.
  • Translate design concepts into functional digital experiences using Webflow, WordPress, Framer, or related no-code platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to support design fidelity, functional implementation, responsive behavior, and performance.
  • Stay fluent in emerging tools, plugins, and best practices across Figma, motion, prototyping, no-code, and digital-production ecosystems.
AI and Workflow Innovation
  • Actively learn, test, and thoughtfully apply AI tools in creative workflows.
  • Explore opportunities to use AI to improve research, ideation, creative exploration, content development, production efficiency, documentation, and project communication.
  • Use AI responsibly and critically, applying strong creative judgment, protecting confidential information, and maintaining quality, originality, and brand integrity.
  • Share useful tools, workflows, learnings, and best practices with the broader creative team.
  • Maintain curiosity about emerging technologies and their practical applications within agency and client work.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Actively and independently communicate project status, risks, recommendations, and next steps internally and externally.
  • Professionally and competently participate in day-to-day client interactions.
  • Collaborate closely with creative, strategy, account, marketing, video, development, and production teams.
  • Support marketing and video teams by developing high-quality creative assets that extend the agency and client brand systems.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop concepts, narratives, campaign ideas, and project storylines.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback constructively while maintaining strategic clarity and creative integrity.
  • Begin to provide direction, feedback, and support to junior team members in the development of creative solutions.
Project Management and Prioritization
  • Lead at least one project from concept through completion while contributing effectively to multiple concurrent projects.
  • Manage priorities independently, make informed tradeoffs, and adapt quickly as timelines, feedback, and project needs evolve.
  • Organize work clearly, maintain project files and documentation, and ensure deliverables are prepared accurately and on time.
  • Track progress against project schedules, identify risks early, and proactively address issues before they affect delivery.
  • Allocate time effectively and manage work in alignment with project budgets and scope, as needed.
  • Demonstrate sound operational judgment, including the ability to troubleshoot workflow, software, hardware, file-management, and production issues.
Technical Skills
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant software, platforms, plugins, and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot common software, hardware, file-management, collaboration, and production issues independently.
  • Demonstrate mastery of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, and Figma.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Webflow, Framer, WordPress, or comparable no-code design and development tools.
  • Maintain proficiency with relevant AI tools and demonstrate a willingness to continuously learn and adapt as the tool landscape evolves.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of creative marketing strategies, promotional content, and agency-facing materials.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in team workflows, design-system practices, creative operations, and tool adoption.
  • Support a culture of curiosity, accountability, collaboration, craft, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Multimedia Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in a visual-design, brand-design, digital-design, or similar creative role.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking, high-level visual craft, strategic design thinking, and polished execution across brand and digital work.
  • Mastery of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe After Effects, and Figma.
  • Deep working knowledge of Figma as a design-system and collaboration platform, including component libraries, variables, variants, auto layout, prototyping, design handoff, and workflow organization.
  • Proficiency with relevant AI tools and demonstrated interest in applying AI thoughtfully within a creative workflow.
  • Working knowledge of no-code tools such as Webflow, Framer, WordPress, or similar platforms.
  • Experience in both B2B and B2C content creation; healthcare, MedTech, wellness, technology, or regulated-industry experience is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
  • Excellent storytelling and narrative-building skills through visual media.
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to quality.
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze project needs and make informed creative decisions.
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and shifting requirements without losing momentum or quality.
  • A proactive troubleshooting mindset, with the ability to identify workflow obstacles and find practical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter and collaboratively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to receive, interpret, and act on direction and feedback.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and project-management skills.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning—especially across AI, Figma, no-code tools, and evolving creative technologies.
