ABOUT THE ROLE

The Spellbook brand team is seeking a Brand Design Lead to shape how we show up across touchpoints, from sales material and digital experiences to events and in-person activations. You’ll own projects end to end, from concept through delivery, and set the standard for craft across information-dense deliverables like decks and one-pagers. You’ll also lead the development of generative brand systems and AI tooling that scale output across the company.

We’re a team that cares deeply about iteration and quality, and strives for impact in every project. We don’t operate as a service desk, but as a strategic partner to Product, Marketing, Sales, and leaders across the company. You’ll join a small, focused team of creatives with low ego and high standards. We believe that quality and speed are not opposing forces, but together create conditions to build momentum.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own brand projects end to end, from creative direction and concept through production and delivery
  • Lead experiential and in-person brand work, including events, conferences, and activations, from spatial concept to on-site execution
  • Build generative AI brand tools and workflows that increase the speed and quality of brand work across the company
  • Prototype and ship digital brand experiences, working directly in code when it moves the work forward
  • Shape the evolution of Spellbook’s brand system, defining standards that hold up across digital, print, and physical spaces
  • Set the bar for sales enablement materials like decks, one-pagers, and templates
  • Partner with Sales, Product Marketing, Customer Success, and leadership to set priorities and move work forward
  • Work closely with our Creative Director, mentor other designers, and lead regular critiques
  • Other responsibilities as required
WHAT YOU NEED
  • 7+ years of experience in a brand, graphic design, or related role, including leading projects from concept to delivery
  • A portfolio that shows strong skill in brand systems, editorial layout of information-dense materials, and digital or experiential work
  • Excellent attention to typography, hierarchy, and composition
  • Hands-on experience building custom AI tooling, generative systems, or automated workflows to scale brand work
  • Comfort working with AI to prototype ideas and ship digital work
  • Proficiency in Figma, the Adobe suite, and other presentation tools like Google Slides
  • Experience owning events or physical activations, including working with vendors, fabricators, and budgets
  • Comfort managing multiple projects and deadlines while setting direction for others
  • An appetite for collaboration and critique in pursuit of highly crafted, impactful work
NICE-TO-HAVES
  • Experience at a small studio or in an independent practice
  • Motion design or short-form video editing experience in tools like Jitter
  • Experience with creative coding, generative design, or interactive installations
  • Illustration skills

INCLUSIVE HIRING AT SPELLBOOK

Spellbook is dedicated to ensuring equal treatment and opportunity in all phases of recruitment, selection, and employment, in compliance with employment law. USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN RECRUITMENT

Spellbook uses artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly to support administrative and efficiency-focused aspects of our recruitment process. This includes activities such as drafting job descriptions, generating interview questions, note-taking and recordings, and supporting sourcing and scheduling workflows. All candidate evaluations, interviews, and hiring decisions are made by members of the Spellbook team. While AI tools may assist with screening and assessment, they do not replace human judgment in selection decisions. Our use of AI is intended to streamline routine tasks, improve consistency, and enhance the overall candidate experience. We are committed to upholding principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability in all hiring activities. Spellbook regularly reviews its recruitment practices to mitigate bias and to ensure alignment with applicable laws and evolving best practices.

OUR COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY

Spellbook uses industry benchmark data to establish compensation bands for all roles. The salary range listed for a position reflects the expected total wage range for the role—including base salary and on-target commissions, where applicable—and may span multiple career levels. Final compensation is determined during the interview process based on factors such as experience, skills, scope, and role level. In addition to base salary and applicable commissions, total rewards may include equity, health and wellness benefits, and other company programs. Full details will be shared during the interview process.
