Job summary

Sandpiper Productions is seeking brand ambassadors for North Country events around Lincoln and Conway/Mount Washington Valley. This independent contractor role involves hosting tastings and demos for beer, wine, and spirits at retail stores, bars, and private events.

You will be the face of the brand, greeting guests, educating them on products, and helping to convert attendees into customers, with shifts often 2–3 hours on Saturdays (1–6 PM) and occasional other days during holiday weeks.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 or older.
• Alcohol seller-server certification (eg. TIPS) or willingness to obtain before first event.
• Reliable transportation within 30 minutes of home.

Responsibilities

• Host tastings and product demos for beer, wine and spirits at retail stores, bars and private events.

• Represent premium brands at in-store tastings, nightlife activations and promo events.
• Research brands before each event using training materials.

Sandpiper Productions | North Country, NH | $30/hour | Independent contractor (gig work)

We're building our North Country team ahead of ski season. Much of the work here is at ski-area base lodges and slopeside pubs, with some in-store tastings at local markets. You'd work events in and around Lincoln and the Conway/Mount Washington Valley area, including Waterville Valley, Franconia, Thornton, Bartlett, Gorham and Bretton Woods.

When we work in the North Country:

Most events run during ski season, December through March, and the most common slot is a Saturday afternoon, usually somewhere between 1 and 6 PM. There are also some Fridays, Sundays and weekdays during holiday and school-vacation weeks. Most shifts are 2 to 3 hours. Outside ski season, events here are occasional.

What you'll do

• Host tastings and product demos for beer, wine and spirits brands at retail stores, bars and private events


• Be the face of the brand: greet shoppers and guests, educate them on what makes each product special, and convert them into customers


• Represent premium brands at in-store and private tastings, nightlife activations and promotional events


• Research the brands you sign up to promote before each event, using our optional training materials


• Clock in and out of each event by geolocation in our app, and keep us posted on anything that comes up on site

What we're looking for

• Punctual: you arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start (that's on time for us) and stay through the end of your shift


• Communicative: you let us know right away about any obstacle or issue at an event


• Prepared: as an independent contractor, you know the brands you represent before you arrive


• Engaging: you're attentive, inviting and enthusiastic, and you stay engaged and off your phone for the whole event


• Must be 21 or older


• A current alcohol seller-server certification, such as TIPS or your state's required course, or willingness to get one before your first event


• Reliable transportation to events within about 30 minutes of where you live


• A smartphone and comfort using simple apps


• Availability when events run in your area (see above)

Physical requirements

This role is active and hands-on. With or without reasonable accommodation, you need to be able to:

• Stand and walk for the full event, usually 2 to 3 hours, including in crowded bars and stores


• Move through crowds to approach and engage guests, not just stay behind a table


• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs (for example a folding table, product and supplies for in-store tastings) from your car to the setup spot


• Climb stairs and work in venues that may not have elevators or ramps


• For most in-store tastings, set up and break down your own folding table and display


• Work in loud, busy, low-light settings, indoors or outdoors
