Job description

Story Cannabis was built by misfits on a mission — people bold enough to shift the cannabis narrative and create something better. Founded in 2021 by industry veterans, Story is a vertically integrated company headquartered in Phoenix, operating across Arizona, Maryland, Ohio, and Louisiana, and we’re just getting started.

Our vision is to bring hope, happiness, and healing to the world through cannabis, and we’re doing it one state, one store, and one customer at a time.

Leadership defines how we show up. Data drives how we grow. Gratitude keeps us grounded. Unity fuels our momentum. And growth, in every sense, inspires everything we do.

If you’re ready to challenge what’s expected and shape the future of cannabis, your next chapter starts with Story.

Overview:

As a Brand Ambassador, you’ll be the face of our brands in the field — engaging with consumers, dispensary staff, and retail partners to bring our products to life. This hands-on role focuses on building authentic connections, driving brand awareness, supporting promotions and pop-up events, and ensuring a memorable experience at every touchpoint. It’s an exciting opportunity for someone who’s passionate about cannabis, thrives in social environments, and wants to play a direct role in shaping how our brands show up in a dynamic, competitive market.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-store services, including event demos, trainings, and Patient Appreciation Days (PADs) at client dispensaries.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the product line to effectively communicate its benefits to both dispensary staff and consumers.
  • Capture high-quality video and photo content during events to enhance social media presence and engagement.
  • Drive product sales during demos through direct education of budtenders and customers.
  • Execute visual merchandising checks in accordance with approved planograms and brand standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all partner dispensaries.
  • Lead budtender training sessions to increase product knowledge and administer assessments as needed.
  • Monitor store traffic, collect feedback, and gather market intelligence to inform marketing strategies.
  • Support small scale brand activations and in-store moments, executing with precision and alignment to established brand guidelines.
  • Complete standardized event recaps via Monday.com following every activation, including photos, notes, and key outcomes.
  • Ensure that marketing materials, such as point-of-sale items and collateral, are available and up to date.
  • Collaborate closely with the Brand Coordinator, marketing, and sales teams to ensure seamless alignment on field execution, merchandising, reporting, and promotional strategies.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for local community engagement such as events, festivals, or collaborations that align with the brand’s culture and audience.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, sales, or event promotions, with cannabis industry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cannabis products, their effects, chemistry, and market trends.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to engage with consumers and budtenders to effectively drive sales and meet marketing objectives.
  • Ability to track, measure, and communicate performance metrics such as sales impact, store engagement, and content captured to demonstrate field success and support marketing KPIs.
  • Ability to work autonomously while also being a collaborative team player, building strong relationships across departments.
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and familiarity with social media platforms for content sharing.
  • A passion for delivering outstanding customer service, with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for driving results.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability, with a commitment to upholding brand standards.
  • Must be willing to travel frequently throughout an assigned territory and have a flexible schedule to work events that sometimes fall on evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate various events and dispensary environments.
