Job summary

NAVSTA Guam is seeking a part-time Sales Associate to be the face of the organization, assisting customers and promoting our products and services. You will learn our offerings and articulate our purpose in a professional, educational manner while contributing to a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities include customer engagement, product recommendations, inventory upkeep, and accurate cash handling using POS systems.

Qualifications

• Product knowledge of merchandise.
• Retail experience preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; read, write and interpret instructional documents.
• Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Ability to multi-task while being attentive to customers and flexible to business needs.
• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of supervision.
• Enthusiastic, friendly and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage and connect with customers.
• Ask questions to determine customer needs.
• Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about events and promotions.
• Provide premier customer service.
• Maintain store appearance.
• Cross-selling and upselling based on customer needs.
• Process POS transactions and handle cash, discounts, gift cards, credit/debit cards, and cash handling.
• Complete forms, reports and reconciliations.
• Be the keeper of merchandise and participate in inventories.
• Adhere to assigned work schedule and take accountability.
